Prayer Chain

St. Timothy's prayer chain consists of a group of women, men and youth who commit some time everyday to pray for those who are in need of support whether it be for personal reasons or concern and love for someone near and dear who is in need.  We are continually adding names to the list of those who wish prayers said for them and we are always looking for more who are willing to commit to this ministry.  If you are in need of prayer, would like to join the prayer chain or would like to submit the name of a friend or family member in need of prayer, please contact Carol Smith This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Prayer requests can now be added by using this Prayer request link or selecting Prayer Requests from the left menu.

Almighty God,
we entrust all who are dear to us to thy never-failing care and love,
for this life and the life to come,
knowing that thou art doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Acolyte

To be an acolyte in the Episcopal Church is to follow a tradition that dates back to the year 250 A.D. The word acolyte means “follower” or “one who helps”.  The acolytes at St. Timothy's are young people between the ages of 10 and 18  who assist in worship by performing such functions as carrying the  crosses and flags at the processions, lighting and extinguishing candles, carrying torches in the procession and at the reading of the Gospel, helping with the collection of the offering and the presentation of bread and wine, and assisting the priest at the altar during the Holy Communion.  By serving as an acolyte a young person learns about the services of the church.  They also gain a great deal of confidence performing before an audience in a formal setting.

For information on how to become an acolyte at St. Timothy's please contact Rev. Harris or our acolyte director Terry Iddings ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

Liturgical Lay Ministers

Many opportunities exist for anyone who feels called by God to take on leadership responsibilites with regard to the worship service in the Episcopal Church. The Bishop of a diocese will issue licenses to lay persons to serve as Pastoral Leader, Worship Leader, Eucharistic Minister, or Eucharistic Visitor. Requirements and guidelines for the selection, training, continuing education, and deployment of such persons and the duration of licenses are established by the Bishop in consultation with the Commission on Ministry.
